We are inviting some of our past Unheard LA storytellers to bring their own shows to our home base in Pasadena: the Crawford Family Forum. Next up are performance artists Stephanie Sajor and Eddy M. Gana Jr. (Steady) and their codirected show “Sunday Jump.”
“Sunday Jump” is a community open mic series that takes place every first Sunday of the month in Historic Filipinotown. Each month it provides a safe space for marginalized voices to share their stories and create genuine connections through the arts. In order to ensure a welcoming space for everyone, it has two community guidelines: express not impress and free speech not hate speech.
On Sunday, August 25, “Sunday Jump” comes to Pasadena for a special curated edition of the show that focuses on uplifting communities and exists to declare that “we are here and now.” Also joining them will be Filipinotown’s HiFi Kitchen who will be serving up their modern approach to traditional and vegan Filipino fare.
